Not my first choice of doctor( or second ..or third...) but usually the only choice available.
In my limited experience i also have found him to have a slightly belittling attitude ..as if to say " well what do you want me to do about it?"...although not in those words but you know what i mean.
Having said this he is always friendly and polite...just not much help!
Was too busy to see me for a follow up, a common complaint of this surgery, and instead opted for a telephone call. His manner on the call is best described as offhand. He suggested a double dose of the prescribed medicine and it has taken me nearly 12 months of care with an independent endocrinologist to get somewhere near back to 'normal'.
I have had a rough ride recently, been in hospital and had some awful days Dr Pratt arranged for a Dr to visit my house after listening to me careful on the phone he was at that time the last person I wanted to speak too, never clicked with him but I have to say he's been very good and listened and I genuinely felt he cared. Give him a chance and please don't listen to everyone you speak too he a very good GP and yes he doesn't suffer fools he's quite but he is listening.
Dr. Pratt has always listened to us and has just recently taken the time to phone my husband at home to discuss medication after his return from a hospital stay. Yesterday he gave us what I can ony describe as a full consultation and discussed various problems and situations and we left feeling he had been sympathetic and kind. He is a very good and concerned practioner. It was my husband we saw Dr. Pratt about yesterday but I also have been to see him and never thought I was being hurried through my appointment and was always treated considerately.
Dr Pratt, is a clock watcher who never has time to listen a lot of my friends are at Castle Gate but refuse to see him as he always makes you feel like your wasting his time!!
